This free eligibility checker will submit information to our application assessors who will give you an initial indication of whether you’re likely to qualify.

If you appear eligible, you’ll be invited to submit evidence of your eligibility.

You may be asked to provide:

• Proof of benefit entitlements (e.g. award letter or UC statement)

• Proof of ID and address

• Details about your current heating system

• Landlord permission (if you are a tenant)

If your application is successful, a qualified surveyor or heating engineer will visit your property to:

• Assess the condition and age of your existing boiler

• Conduct an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) assessment

• Confirm the technical feasibility of the installation

This survey usually takes up to 2 hours and it is important to ensure that the assessors have access to every room in your home.

Once the home survey is complete, your information is sent to the boiler grant scheme administrator for final approval.

If approved:

• The grant will be confirmed
• You’ll receive a proposed installation date

An accredited gas safe engineer will visit your home to fit the new boiler. Installation typically takes 1-2 days for the boiler but up to 5 days if receiving other measures such as insulation.

The engineer will:

• Remove the old boiler
• Install the new energy-efficient boiler
• Test the system and explain how it works
• We take your old boiler away and dispose of it responsibly. In some cases, where the old boiler is particularly large, we may need to call a local scrap service to remove it, due to a large sized old boiler not fitting in our installation team’s vehicle. However, this is rare and in most instances your old boiler will be taken away the same day as installation.

All new boilers come with a manufacturers warranty (usually 5 years).

After installation, you should receive:

• A certificate of installation
• Manufacturer’s warranty documentation
• Instructions for boiler maintenance and service intervals

Please note any future boiler servicing and maintenance will be the responsibility of your landlord if you are a tenant, or yourself, if you are a homeowner.

• Fairway Energy accreditations can be seen on our website. However, if you’re not using us, always check that the company is registered with Government TrustMark.
• From initial application, to installation, and all measures installed; this government-backed scheme is 100% free to eligible households. Therefore, we do not ask for any upfront or ongoing fees. However, if you are not using Fairway Energy, please do not pay any upfront fees to any other company unless a contribution is clearly explained and you have agreed to the extra cost.
