Fairway Energy Secures Role in £32m Warm Homes Programme
Across Liverpool City Region

Fairway Energy is proud to announce that it has been awarded a share of the £32 million allocation for the Warm Homes: Local Grant (WH:LG) programme, led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA).

The contract forms part of the UK Government’s wider Warm Homes Plan, a flagship initiative to tackle fuel poverty, improve housing standards, and accelerate the transition to low-carbon homes.

Through this programme, Fairway Energy will deliver large-scale energy efficiency and low-carbon upgrades to hundreds of homes across Knowsley, St. Helens, Halton and Wirral.

Delivering Real Benefits for Local Communities

The programme is designed to directly support households most in need, with a focus on:

  • Lowering household energy costs
  • Improving property warmth and comfort
  • Reducing carbon emissions
  • Supporting long-term energy security

Dedicated resident liaison support, personalised communication, and ongoing advice services will ensure a smooth and inclusive customer journey.

Strong Focus on Social Value and Local Impact

A key pillar of Fairway Energy’s delivery is its commitment to maximising social value across the region.

As part of the contract, Fairway Energy will:

  • Source 100% of materials from suppliers within the Liverpool City Region
  • Create new local jobs and apprenticeship opportunities
  • Deliver work placements for young people entering the retrofit industry
  • Support community initiatives, education programmes, and employability workshops

These commitments ensure that investment remains within the region, strengthening local supply chains and supporting economic growth.

This contract represents a significant step forward in supporting the UK Government’s net zero ambitions, helping to decarbonise homes, tackle fuel poverty, create skilled green jobs, and build sustainable local economies.
